My main reason for tagging (I use Projects in Toggl for this) is to see where my time goes, so I want to tag particular tasks with โProductโ kind of work, or โDesignโ, or โMeetingsโ.
So that at the end of quarter/year I can see a recap/analytics of the time Iโve sunk into particular type of jobsโฆ which would be my other request Iโll create :)

Hi Ian we are startung to touch tag. Just to be clear.
Even tough we have โListโ you would be still wanting tags for different purpose, Is this correct?

Correct. I think it would be more logical in terms of your app architecture. Lists are more like grouping entities, and tags would be contextual/meaningful โtaxonomiesโ.
It would be helpful for me when Iโll be able to see the time distribution by tags, not by lists.
I.e., simply tagging for the sake of tagging doesnโt work, they are only helpful when you can use them in analytics / views / etc.

We understand the importance of the search feature. It's included in our roadmap, but some more basic features still need to be prepared (for example, adding calendar events, sub-tasks, and the repeating tasks you mentioned). These will be added soon! Please stay tuned!
I'm not sure if I understood 'Keystroke' correctly, but I assumed it means keyboard shortcuts. This feature is expected to be added within 1-2 weeks.
I deeply empathize with how adding links related to tasks can greatly reduce the time spent on tasks. It's not on our roadmap yet, but we'll prioritize it based on your feedback!
For the tag feature, we need to consider OFFLIGHT's information structure more thoroughly. We'll inform you if we have additional plans. Thank you for your feedback.
Regarding the distinction for different views, I might not have understood your question correctly. Could you please explain it in more detail?

There are 3 distinct views: goals, planning and focus. In the focus mode it is pretty easy to see that you are in focus mode because the view changes. The other two: goals and planning look very similar. I was just wondering if it was possible to make them a little more distinct.
It's not super important. It would just help me know where I am.... maybe somewhere down the road.

@Diane THOMPSON Thank you Diane!!! It is so nice to hear from you :)
I believe you might have noticed it already. This was the literally the 1st post on our feature base!
We will be able to start our user centric journey, Starting from here this post! I can't thank you enough.
I agree with 100% of your feedbacks. (Especially ambiguous between Organizing and Planning) Frankly speaking, for the time being we were planning to focus on Planning page.
If you rank by prioirty, what would it be?
I will exclude Repeating task & Key stroke because it will be developed soon! :)
1) Search
2) Add a link to Task (I am thinking shortcut 'O' for opening adding link)
3) Tags
PS. If possible, can you share some of your tags?
Thank you Dan

I think the priority you put them out in is just right.
Search is a priority. Sometimes I need to find when I did something, ie. when I ordered something and does it need a followup.
Sometimes I need to search for a date to see if I have any openings and a "Go to date" would be very helpful. I don't want to double book myself and I can't see an easy way to get to a specific date.
My tags tend to be : Daily, Monthly, Weekly, Yearly, and categories like Personal, Work, Music, Art
Hope that helps.

@Dan I couldnt agree more that TAGS would be awesome to have. While I have Sections for Personal and Work, I could use to break them down a bit more.
Work:
Task
Meeting
New Hire
Review
Support
Personal:
Medical
Family
Travel
Bills
Renewals
Would help with organization!

@Adam Stein Hi Adam, Just to understant problem better. What would you use as tags? instead of sublists?
On top of that, if we create tags, you would want a view that has tasks for that specific tasks right?

I took your advice and I think sub lists will work just as well.
As for if you created tags. The current view is fine as long as each task displays the tag on them. Then a filter to only show specific tags would be good.

Hi @zoomkoding Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We are also thinking about tags. But just curious, We already have list and you can also use sublist.
Using your example, it would look like this.
What problems do you still have in our current system? Is there specific thing you you want as tags? I want to hear root cause of your problem, so we can make tags better than just tags.

Of course, you can use it that way, but for users who use the existing list classification for purposes other than indicating the status of tasks, a list that only includes blocked tasks doesn't seem to match the nature of other lists. Also, if tasks are separated into lists based on their status, they will be removed from the existing lists, which is not desirable. Since there are various ways users manage their tasks before migrating to Offright, it seems necessary to provide a method that accommodates various needs so users can use it as they wish.
To you have any preferred way of view regarding tasks related with tags? (There are many services that have own way of doing this, want to learn your preference.)

Hi, for the users who have upvoted โTagsโ Adding tags to task is simple, but creating view regarding tasks that have specific tags is the hard part.
Can you share what your ideal view or UX regarding views related with tags?
It would be help us greatly.
