    Translate

"Be able to set the estimated time for a task and at the same time start the task to track the actual time spent."

→ Yes we are looking into this :)

Hi Dan, thanks for taking the time to listen to my feedback. Can we chat?

“Can we chat?” ← would this mean chatting as text? or would it be something like google meet?

If it is text, please feel free to deliver more detailed needs here.

        1. What is the core reason you want to track your time?
        2. In what context do you use that data? (and How often?)
        3. Why would you compare planned time <> actual time? (I get the idea, I want it too) But What would it help you? If it was done faster than your plan, or slower than your plan - How would knowing that help your life?

        ——
If you would like to have a call with me can you book here? I have so many things to talk about regarding this.

          Yes, I meant text chat.

I believe that the main reason that would bring together different advantages of this feature would be continuous improvement. But this depends on the methodology used for time management. Some people prefer to work with a large block of time for the minimum of the most important tasks, others base themselves on intermittent slots (pomodoro), others estimate a time for a task. In all cases, if you want to be more accurate in planning, you will need to understand whether you are estimating the time needed to complete an activity correctly. Comparing the planned vs. actual of each task individually allows you to identify unexpected things/deviations from the path (what are the reasons for underestimation), understand why an estimate was or was not adequate, set goals to gain performance, improve the estimate, decide whether or not something should be done based on its load... In the current flow presented by offlight, I do not use the organizing tab, I only use the planning and focus tabs, so I would use this resource very frequently in both tabs (maybe even unify them to simplify link with https://offlightinc.featurebase.app/pt/p/confusing-workflow)

Sorry my English is still very bad, I think I can help you more this way.

No your english is perfect to transfer what is means.
Makes perfect sense. We will consider this when we are revamping.

Also, we are getting rid of organizing page too:) Trying to combine focusing page and planning page in to single experience
