Here’s what I believe would work. When you “start” a task, it can either be a timer or a pomodoro.
Pomodoros can be set to have:
duration
break time
long break time
The calendar would then either have a block pre-filled for a task’s duration - or if you start a task without it being blocked into the calendar - it would begin to fill in as the timer works. The task would essentially grow as the timer counts up.
Here’s how I generally work:
I have 3 main tasks that I do every day, and I like to get in 3 pomodoros for each one with a break inbetween. So I generally need 90 minute blocks per task.
Let’s say task 1 is coding, task 2 is updating documentation and task 3 is learning new tech.
It would be great to make sure I get my pomodoros in, as some days I have meetings that break these up and some days I have longer blocks of uninterrupted time. These would be recurring daily, and then I’d have my other more “general” tasks to get done throughout the week.
Let me know if you have any questions! Happy to discuss this further as I think it can work seamlessly with the current UI.

Hi @Fredman Nick Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts.
Yes, actually, as you have said. I think current count up and pomodoro can go with each other.
“it would begin to fill in as the timer works. The task would essentially grow as the timer counts up.” ← This is one of the things that I have been wanting from my day 1.
By any chance, would it be have a possible have a quick user interview regarding this?
If it is okay with you. I would love to join in with our designer.

@Acorda Jayson Hi, again. Actually we get this a lot.
But still I want to talk about this. (So we can deeply understand)
If we update our time tracking feature to a count down timer for tasks (The time will be counted down from what you have planned on calendar, or duration)
Would you still want for a pomodoro timer? (which works regardless of your planned task duration)
I am really hesitating because having 2 time tracking related UX in a single service might cause loosing simplicity.
But still I want to learn about your needs. Understanding your thoughts might lead to a innovative solution that can catch both of needs. :)

We are going to revamp our focus mode. So your thoughts would be really helpful!
